I have dependents in my visa application. Do you recommend paying for subscription?

If both the applicants are applying for same visa type then yes - subscription can be helpful to receive alerts when there is an availability.
Idea
Tip: Set minimum number of slot availability to at least 2 in the subscription page, which will alert you when there are at least 2 slots available.
If the applicants are applying for multiple visa types, then no - because it is hard to validate the visa types of dependents.

Note that H-1B, L-1 (Individual), H-4 share calendar appointment. B1 & B2 is a subset of B1/B2 visa calendar - which means anything you see in B1 or B2 calendar will be present in the "B1/B2" calendar.
